A little about me
Here are Vanessa's answers from her brief ‘5 Questions’ interview during our Agent Spotlight:
Why did you choose real estate as a profession?
To be honest, real estate chose me, and I'm thrilled that it did! My neighbor was a real estate agent. I told her how much I hated my current job sitting in an office behind a desk all day. She encouraged me to start shadowing her on the weekends and I was hooked!
What has been most challenging about this journey so far?
Many years ago before everything was automated and we had email/internet - it would frustrate me that my deals would fall apart after several weeks at the mortgage company with no warning and no real explanation. I convinced a friend that owned a mortgage company to let me work part time for her to learn the process. It has truly been a blessing! Over the years this experience has helped me save many loans that would have otherwise been turned down.
What advice do you give your customers that they probably won’t hear anywhere else?
Buying and Selling property is stressful at best. There are a lot of moving parts on both sides. As a Realtor I encourage my clients to call me anytime and as often as needed to make them feel comfortable. It's the unknown that causes stress.
What has been the most rewarding part of being an agent?
The most rewarding part of being an agent is getting a referral. I know all agents say that but for me it lets me know that my clients have trust in me if they refer me to their family and friends. Some referrals come months or even years later and it warms my heart that I did a good job for them and they remembered me.
What do you believe makes you different from other agents?
I truly love helping my clients. I look forward to getting to know them and their families during the process of helping them buy or sell their home. I'm in constant contact with my clients. As I said before - It's the unknown that causes stress.
